B. Goidhoo recently witnessed a thrilling display of skill and spirit at the Red Bull Wind Rider Kitesurfing Competition 2024, where Maldivian talent shone brightly. The freestyle competition saw Goidhoo's own Hassan Mahir (Hantey), proudly representing Aquacube, take the top spot, showcasing his incredible skills and passion for the sport.
Joining Hantey on the freestyle podium were Slingshot Maldives team riders Raaif Shaneez (Raai), another Goidhoo native, and Hamza Moosa (Hamma), who snagged 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Their impressive performances left spectators in awe and added significant achievements to their records.
In the twin tip competition, Hantey continued his winning streak by securing 1st place. The 2nd and 3rd places went to the two talented Sri Lankan kitesurfing athletes, Sanaka Sadaru and Amjath Nasar, who brought diversity and excitement to the event.
The event was nothing short of electrifying, with riders showcasing their best tricks and stunts against the stunning backdrop of Goidhoo’s crystal-clear waters. This strong showing by Maldivian athletes highlights the growing talent and dedication within the country and helps position the Maldives as an emerging destination for sea sports.
